| GTM sales has been involved with sugilite since 1985. The initial material was obtained because of its rarity and striking color. Several years later our company was asked to participate in an evaluation and examination of this interesting and new material. | |
The definitive article published in Gemological Institute of America's, Gem and Geology Journal, 4th Quarter 1987, established the final certification of this material as a valuable gemstone. This article also cleared up market confusion concerning the different qualities of sugilite. Since that time GTM Sales have amassed holdings of rough sugilite in all of its unique colors and variations. Over the years we have put together an impressive collection of gem carvings in sugilite from Germany and China, for the purpose of public viewing and display in Japan. |
